The company dispenses with all indicators on the dial, to introduce a simple, modern design for its latest timepieces
In 2005, H. Moser & Cie. marked its return to haute horlogerie by revolutionizing the perpetual calendar with the Perpetual 1. For Watches & Wonders Geneva, the Manufacture revisits this famous instantaneous date-change movement with a version featuring four hands in the center and the complexity of the perpetual calendar, which we have detailed from its first appearance to the most prominent watches of this complexity. So due to the leap year, introducing a new timepiece available for one (leap) year only. The Streamliner, launched in January 2020, represents Moser’s unique interpretation of the luxury sports watch, featuring a cushion-shaped case and integrated bracelet. Featuring four hands in the center, a large date, and a power reserve indicator, all displayed on the extraordinary Smoked Salmon dial, this is H. Moser & Cie.'s latest creation. Devoid of sub-dials, indexes, or logos, it maintains a simple appearance yet is utterly ingenious, focusing exclusively on the essentials. Exploiting the interplay of contrasts, it disrupts the vintage spirit of the Smoked Salmon color by juxtaposing it with boldly modern minimalism, achieving a perfect balance. This special edition watch will be available for 12 months only.
The Streamliner Perpetual Calendar showcases a 42.3mm case measuring 11mm in thickness, excluding the domed glassbox sapphire crystal. Its sleek design seamlessly extends to the integrated bracelet, featuring supple, articulated wave-shaped links embellished with sunray-brushed and polished finishes. This timepiece boasts a transparent case and screw-in crown, ensuring water resistance of up to 120 meters. The bezel is adorned with a sunray brushed finish, while the case displays alternating brushed and polished surfaces, with hollowed and satin-finished forms on the sides, paying homage to the traditional and distinctive shapes synonymous with Moser cases.
In this Concept version, neither indexes nor a logo are present, allowing the full beauty of the Smoked Salmon dial to shine through. This color, a classic in haute horology, adds an exquisitely vintage touch to this model. The vibrant dial creates an unending play of light. The new Streamliner Perpetual Calendar omits the indices, power reserve gauge, and logo. This intentional removal of distractions allows the stunning smoked salmon dial to captivate. Additionally, the date window is positioned at an unusual angle, necessitating the tilting of the numerals to 26°.
The leap year indicator is situated on the movement side, visible through the sapphire case-back. Powering the watch is the in-house HMC 812 manual-winding caliber, which features a direct-drive central seconds hand. Operating at 18,000vph and equipped with an in-house hairspring, the double barrel ensures a robust 7-day power reserve. The movement's contemporary appearance is defined by dark gray PVD-coated bridges adorned with double horizontal stripes and a micro-blasted mainplate. Additionally, gold escapement wheel and pallet fork components add a touch of luxury to the ensemble.
The Streamliner Perpetual Calendar Concept Smoked Salmon boasts a brushed and polished integrated stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp featuring three blades. This special edition timepiece will be exclusively available for 12 months, retailing at CHF 49,900, equivalent to 205,000 AED.
