Introducing The New H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Tourbillon Burgundy

A Blend of Luxurious Red Gold and Burgundy with a flying Tourbillon

H. Moser & Cie. presents its latest release, the Pioneer Tourbillon Burgundy, a luxurious addition to the brand’s tourbillon lineup. This timepiece features the signature round design that defines the Pioneer collection and combines red gold with a burgundy hue for an even more refined look. The watch is equipped with a flying tourbillon that completes a full rotation every minute.

The brand maintains its distinctive design language, utilizing red gold and a fumé dial, a technique that Moser has mastered over the years. This technique, which creates a deeper burgundy shade toward the edges, results in a striking visual effect. We have seen this approach in several previous releases, such as the Streamliner Perpetual Calendar Concept Smoked Salmon, and now in the latest addition to the Pioneer Tourbillon collection.

The case design, in particular, is reminiscent of the special editions Moser created for Bucherer, specifically one of the watches in this trilogy, the Pioneer Tourbillon crafted from stainless steel.

The Pioneer Tourbillon Burgundy boasts a 40mm Art Deco-inspired case crafted from 5N red gold. With a height of 12mm, including the slightly domed sapphire crystal, and a screw-in crown adorned with an engraved M, the watch combines practicality and elegance, offering a water-resistance rating of 120 meters. The casebands feature fluted decoration with a brushed finish, adding a refined touch.

The burgundy fumé dial is a testament to Moser's expertise in the fumé effect, which creates a darker shade at the dial's periphery. The sunray-brushed dial is complemented by faceted applied indices and leaf-shaped hour and minute hands, all coated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced legibility. The H. Moser & Cie. logo is applied in transparent lacquer, further elevating the dial's luminosity and the warmth of the red gold. The hands and indices are also crafted from red gold.

At 6 o'clock, the one-minute flying tourbillon with a skeletonized bridge is a striking feature. Beneath its apparent simplicity lies a masterpiece of engineering, a tourbillon movement with a double hairspring, improving its efficiency. This pair of matched hairsprings is produced by H. Moser & Cie.'s sister company, Precision Engineering AG.

Powering the watch is the new HMC 805 automatic calibre, which replaces the previous HMC 804. The updated calibre offers clever enhancements, including a wider opening onto the mechanism through partially skeletonized bridges. This design makes the new calibre larger than its predecessor, with a contemporary anthracite grey finish. The opening provides a view of the gear train and bi-directional automatic winding system, while the golden rotor is beveled to avoid obstructing the movement. The calibre guarantees a power reserve of at least three days, beating at 21,600 vph (3Hz).

The khaki strap adds a touch of adventurous spirit to this elegant and timeless piece, secured by a red gold buckle engraved with the Moser logo. The Pioneer Tourbillon Burgundy will join the permanent collection and is priced at CHF 59,900 (approximately AED 242,700).
