Bvlgari & MB&F Reimagine the Iconic Serpenti

Collaborations in watchmaking often bring together the creativity of a brand and its chosen partner, whether they be artists, athletes, or designers. However, it’s far rarer to see two well-known watchmaking powerhouses join forces. The partnership between Bvlgari and MB&F is a fascinating case, as both brands serve as creative forces in the industry with anything they put their hands on.

Their latest collaboration, the Bvlgari x MB&F Serpenti, follows their 2021 partnership, which resulted in the MB&F x Bvlgari LM FlyingT Allegra launched at Dubai Watch Week. This time, the two brands reinterpret Bvlgari’s iconic Serpenti through the mechanical artistry of MB&F’s horological machines, merging biomorphic design with high-complication watchmaking in a way that only they can.

Hands on The Cyrus Klepcys Alarm, an Exceptional Timepiece with Alarm Function

The Artisanal Mastery Behind Cyrus's Unique time display

Independent watchmakers have long held a special place of admiration, in a world where craftsmanship meets innovation. These artisans, with their dedication to precision and creativity, offer timepieces that transcend mere functionality, becoming symbols of artistry and exclusivity. Among this circle, one name shines brightly, Cyrus. Renowned for their commitment to excellence and the pursuit of horological perfection, Cyrus Watches has carved out a distinguished niche in the world of independent watchmaking.

Named after the illustrious Cyrus the Great, Cyrus was established by a Swiss entrepreneurial family. Drawing upon their extensive expertise in luxury and a fervent devotion to haute horlogerie, the family unveiled the Cyrus brand in 2010. Embracing a philosophy of collaboration with the foremost talents in the industry, Cyrus has forged a partnership with Jean-Francois Mojon, widely revered as one of the preeminent master watchmakers of our era, serving as the Technical Director at Cyrus Watches, infusing the brand's creations with his exceptional expertise and vision.

While Cyrus has introduced a diverse array of releases over the years, many of which share the iconic double chronograph function that we saw in the Klepcys Dice Saffron. However Cyrus introduced a timepiece that combines the sound of a minute-repeater with the useful functionality of the alarm, the Klepcys Alarm.

The Klepcys Alarm comes in the brand’s iconic cushion-shaped case, crafted from steel and boasting dimensions of 46mm in diameter and 17.5mm in thickness, despite its big dimensions the watch maintains a bold yet elegant presence on the wrist. The blue dial features a three-dimensional composition, with an array of indicators. Positioned slightly off-center to the left, the hour, minute, and second hands lend a dynamic presence to the dial. Positioned between the 10 and 12 o'clock, a rotating blue/black disc offers a distinctive day/night indication for the primary time display.

Positioned between the 3 and 6 o'clock, lies a secondary dial that facilitates the setting of the alarm function, featuring a 24-hour scale and 5 minute interval, and positioned at 6:30 is the Chime ON/OFF indicator. Drawing focus to the intricate mechanism, a sizable symmetrical aperture positioned between 5 and 9 o'clock showcases the alarm hammer, capturing attention with its striking presence. When activated, the hammer resonates with various chimes, creating harmonious notes that endure for a maximum duration of 16 seconds. Simplifying operation, all functions can be effortlessly configured via the crown positioned at 3 o'clock, while the crown poisoned at 9 o’clock is purely for aesthetics.

The watch's crown serves multiple functions depending on its position. In position 1, it winds the movement. Shifting to position 2 allows for the setting of the alarm function, and position 3 is dedicated to setting the main time, ensuring accurate synchronization with your daily schedule. Additionally, pressing on the crown activates or deactivates the alarm feature, providing convenient control over its functionality.

Flip the watch over and you’ll be captivated by the intricate display of the movement, as you will notice a sapphire case back showcasing two parallel barrels adorned with black lacquered ratchet-wheels bearing the Cyrus logo. Additionally, the bridges are meticulously engraved with a subtly curved sunray pattern, exhibiting an alternating interplay of polished and brushed effects. Powering the watch is the in-house hand-winding movement, caliber CYR1280. This movement operates at 28,000 vph (4Hz), and offers 72 hours of power reserve.

The watch comes with a black customized caoutchouc rubber strap with a folding clasp. It is limited to 38 pieces and available at a price of CHF 44,750, which is equivalent to AED 186,750.
