After announcing the watch in 2023, the brand is now releasing it with a skeletonized dial and an upgraded movement
The British watch brand Garrick was founded in 2014 by watchmaker David Brailsford. Based in Norfolk, England, Garrick is renowned for its high-quality, handcrafted timepieces produced in small batches. In 2023, Garrick shared a sneak peek of the MK2 version of its S3 watch on Instagram as a prototype. Now, following the success of the S3 MK1 and S2 Deadbeat Seconds models, Garrick is releasing the S3 MK2, a new timepiece featuring an openworked dial and an updated UT-GO4 calibre with a higher level of finishing.
The S3 MK2 is available in either 904L stainless steel or gold, it measures 42mm in diameter and 11mm in thickness. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with AR coating, and the movement can be viewed through the open caseback. Made from frosted brass, the dial offers three configurations, copper hue, and a ruthenium look with the gears available in either rose gold or rhodium. The MK1 model had a skeleton blue chapter ring, exposing a series of gears and pinions atop the mainplate.
The S3 MK2, however, features a printed openwork dial framing the much-improved and updated wheels, pinions, and bridges. The wheels are grained rather than polished to retain their handmade aesthetic. Additionally, the central handset can be customized. You can choose Garrick’s signature anchor style or go for lancine hands, both of which are handmade in the Garrick workshop and can be grained, polished, or blued to your preference.

The dial also features a small seconds sub-dial positioned at 10 o’clock, a power reserve indicator at 2 o’clock, and a large balance wheel at the 6 o’clock position.
The watch is powered by Garrick’s UT-G04 caliber, a manually-wound movement with a 45-hour power reserve. As each watch is made to order, all movement components can be frosted, grained, or mirror-polished, depending on the client's preferences. The watch comes with a handmade strap, available in alligator, calf, buffalo, or ostrich leather. Limited to just five pieces per year, the watch is priced at £27,495, equivalent to AED 127,800.
