Chronograph Editions Combining Durability with a Classic Dive Watch Aesthetic
Sinn introduces two new diving chronographs, designed to be both robust and wearable. Featuring bead-blasted stainless steel cases, these watches boast a matte finish that enhances their tool-watch aesthetic. The two editions share the same case dimensions and overall design.
The Sinn 613 St UTC maintains the same specifications as the Sinn 613 St, the non-UTC version. The only difference lies in the removal of the day display in favor of a second time zone function.
Both watches feature a bead-blasted stainless steel case, a finishing process in which tiny glass or ceramic beads are blasted at high pressure to create a uniform, matte texture. This technique enhances durability, reduces glare, and minimizes surface imperfections.
The case measures 41mm in diameter with a 15mm thickness and offers an impressive 500-meter water resistance, externally certified to meet DIN 8310 and 8306 standards for water resistance and diving equipment. In a previous article, we provided a detailed explanation of dive watch standards and their history. You can read it here.
The unidirectional black bezel, marked with a 60-minute scale and luminous indices, enhances legibility, while the sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides ensures clarity in all lighting conditions.
Both models feature a matte black dial with luminescent hour and minute hands, while the central seconds hand has a red-tipped design for better visibility. The running seconds sub-dial is positioned at 9 o’clock, while the date window appears at 3 o’clock, accompanied by a day display in the 613 St.
For the 613 St UTC, Sinn removes the day display to accommodate a second time zone. The UTC hand, painted in dark gray, subtly integrates with the dial, while the seconds sub-dial is slightly cut into the chapter ring, demonstrating Sinn’s thoughtful approach to design. The 60-minute chronograph counter, positioned at 6 o’clock, stands out with a contrasting white sub-dial for enhanced readability.
Both watches are powered by Sinn’s caliber SZ02, an automatic movement based on the Sellita SW515, which itself traces its lineage back to the Valjoux 7750. Heavily modified by Sinn, this movement operates at 28,800 vph and offers a 42-hour power reserve.
Sinn offers a range of strap options, including leather and rubber straps, as well as a stainless steel H-link bracelet.
The Sinn 613 St starts from EUR 2,450 (approximately AED 9,400), while the Sinn 613 St UTC starts from EUR 2,950 (approximately AED 11,300).
