A Tribute to Baseball with the Los Angeles Dodgers' Team Colors
Seiko has partnered with Shohei Ohtani, the Japanese baseball sensation who plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball (MLB), to unveil two limited-edition timepieces in the Prospex collection. The design of these watches incorporates the Los Angeles Dodgers’ team colors, where Ohtani is a key player, with the team’s signature blue ceramic bezel serving as a standout feature. The unified black palette of the case, bracelet, and dial creates a sophisticated backdrop for the vibrant blue accents.
The cases of both models are crafted from black stainless steel, while the blue ceramic bezel measures 42mm in diameter and 12.9mm in height.
Exclusive details include a crown at 4 o'clock engraved with Ohtani’s jersey number, "17", a bracelet clasp bearing his signature, and a case back engraved with “SHOHEI OHTANI LIMITED EDITION” alongside a serial number, adding a personal touch to the timepieces.
The key distinction between the two models lies in the dial: one features a black dial, while the other boasts a white dial. The GMT hand on the white dial is rendered in blue, while the black dial version features a red GMT hand.
Further highlights include the Dodgers' red and blue, prominently displayed on the second hand and logo, as well as Ohtani’s jersey number "17" in red on the dial ring.
Powering these exceptional watches is Seiko’s automatic Caliber 6R54 movement, which beats at 4Hz and offers a robust power reserve of approximately 72 hours.
Both models come equipped with a black stainless steel three-link bracelet. The black dial version is limited to 1,700 units, while the white dial is limited to just 500 units. Both models are priced at USD 2,000 (approximately AED 7,350).
The Shohei Ohtani x Seiko Prospex collaboration will be available for purchase through the Seiko website starting February 7, 2025.
