Introducing Richard Mille Unveils Three RM 07-01 Coloured Ceramics

Keeping The Summer Vibes With A Watch Inspired By Memphis Art

In the world of luxury watches, Richard Mille is renowned for pushing the boundaries of horology,  consistently surprising watch enthusiasts with unique designs and technological advancements. One such is the RM 07-01, designed to infuse the feminine watch collection with a vibrant burst of color, and diverse usage of materials, including ceramic, gold, and carbon TPT all the while preserving luxury and comfort.

This year, Richard Mille unveiled a trio of the RM 07-01 in colored ceramic, taking its inspiration from Memphis, an Italian design and architecture group rooted to the 1980s and founded by Ettore Sottsass, adding a touch of artistic flair to the world of high-end watchmaking.

This collection offers a trio of 31.40 mm x 45.23 mm ceramic timepieces in colors inspired by the essence of summer, featuring shades of blush pink, lavender pink, and powder blue bezel and caseback, crafted from “Tetragonal Zirconia Polycrystal”, a biocompatible ceramic that boasts corrosion resistance, and hardness level that ensures scratch resistance at 1,400 Vickers, and a toughness surpassing the sapphire. Additionally, the casebands are crafted from microblasted (sandblasting on a micro-precision scale) white gold with hand-polished pillars.

Upon gazing at the watch, the eyes are immediately drawn to the gray PVD-treated red gold skeleton dial. It serves as a canvas for the engraved Memphis motif, which takes center stage. Surrounded by vibrant colored ceramic accents, precision laser-cut rubber appliques, and the opulent sparkle of diamond-set elements, and guilloche hand-turned lathe, that intersect and overlap to create a graphic motif all contributing to the watch's aesthetics.

The trio is powered by the CRMA2 caliber, a skeletonised automatic movement that we have seen in the RM 07-01 INTERGALACTIC collection, with hours, minutes and adjustable 5N 18K red gold rotor geometry, that operates at 28,800 vph(4Hz), and offers 50 hours of power reserve (± 10%).

The limited edition new collection comes with a calfskin strap that is in yellow for the Lavender pink case, turquoise for the Blush pink case, and orange-red for the Powder blue cases.
