A Cushion-Shaped Case and New Skeleton Dial Showcase the Movement Components
Perrelet, a name synonymous with horological artistry that has been pushing the boundaries of watchmaking since 1777. With its roots deeply embedded in the Swiss city of Biel/Bienne, Perrelet continues the legacy of its visionary founder, Abraham-Louis Perrelet, who revolutionized timekeeping with the creation of the first self-winding movement. It was this groundbreaking invention that paved the way for what would later be one of the most iconic and sought-after features in Perrelet's collections, the Double Rotor technology. In 2009, they unveiled the Turbine, an engineering marvel that has become a signature of the brand, combining tradition with audacious design. This innovation, patented by Perrelet, exemplifies the brand’s unyielding pursuit of excellence.
Today, under the guidance of Spanish entrepreneur Miguel Rodriguez and as part of the prestigious Festina Group, Perrelet stands at the forefront of horological independence, ensuring full creative autonomy while maintaining the highest standards in craftsmanship. Every Perrelet timepiece is powered by an in-house automatic movement, a true testament to the brand’s commitment to mastery and innovation. Kicking off the new year, the brand unveils a fresh edition of the "Turbine Urban Skeleton" watch, boasting a redesigned case and dial, In three new colors.
The new watch comes in a cushion-shaped case crafted from black PVD-coated stainless steel. With a diameter of 42 mm and a thickness of 12.35 mm, highlighted by an octagonal bezel with polished bevelled edges and a brushed surface. A sapphire crystal glass with double anti-reflective treatment ensures clarity, while the screw-down case back, also in black PVD-coated stainless steel, includes a sapphire glass porthole for a glimpse into the movement. The crown, adorned with the Perrelet logo, mirrors the overall design, and the watch offers water resistance up to 50 meters.
The dial features a skeleton design that reveals the intricate movement beneath, accentuated by turbine technology. The turbine, made from black anodised aluminium, boasts 10 blades and five tungsten counterweights, creating a captivating mechanical display. A black minute flange with a white Minute track runs along the edges between the embossed hour markers, while the central seconds hand is available in vibrant grass green, electric blue, or red, suspended on the turbine and fixed to the minute flange.

The hour indices are meticulously embossed with a central groove that echoes the case’s decoration, and each one features a luminescent square dot filled with white Super-LumiNova for enhanced readability. The slender hour and minute hands glow with white Super-LumiNova, ensuring both elegance and legibility. Additionally, the colors of the hour markers match those of the central seconds hand, creating a visual harmony that enhances the overall aesthetic of the watch.
The watch is powered by the new P-331-SQ Skeleton Self-Winding Calibre, developed and manufactured entirely in-house by SOPROD, a sister company of Perrelet. This sophisticated movement consists of 78 parts and operates at a frequency 28,800 vph (4Hz). It offers a 42-hour power reserve when not worn. Certified by the prestigious COSC, the P-331-SQ is a testament to precision and craftsmanship. Its rhodium-plated mainplate is finely decorated, with the same finishing applied to the skeletonized bridges of the gear-train, balance-wheel, and barrel. The open-worked rotor, bearing the Perrelet logo, features a snailed surface with a soleil finish on the outer edge and is adorned with the Côtes de Genève motif, adding an extra layer of elegance and refinement to the movement.
It comes with a black calf-leather strap with alligator pattern, grass green or electric blue or red stitching matching the shades of the indices, and folding clasp in black PVD stainless steel embellished with the Perrelet logo, and priced at USD 6,000, approximately AED 22,000.
