An Elegant Rhodium-Coated Dial Crafted Using the Electroforming Process
Sinn Watch Company was founded in Frankfurt, Germany, in 1961 by pilot and watchmaker Helmut Sinn. The company initially specialized in manufacturing aviation watches and chronographs. During the 1980s and 1990s, it became one of the most renowned watch companies in Germany. The company implements strict protocols for testing its watches before releasing them to ensure reliability in extreme conditions. Today, Sinn watches are known for their exceptional quality and durability.
Over the years, the German company has changed its headquarters several times. To mark the occasion of its return to its original headquarters in the Frankfurt am Main area, the company launched a special edition to celebrate this homecoming: the Heimat 1746 watch. This timepiece honors the special relationship the company has developed with the city.
The legacy of precision and durability is embodied in the Heimat 1746 watch, which features a brushed stainless steel case measuring 42 mm in diameter and 9.4 mm in thickness, offering an elegant look. The case is complemented by a sapphire crystal that protects the dial and is treated with an anti-reflective coating on both sides to ensure clarity and reduce glare in various lighting conditions. The transparent case back, also made of sapphire crystal and treated with an anti-reflective coating on the inside, provides a captivating view of the precise movement inside the watch. The case back is securely fastened with screws, enhancing the watch’s durability and ensuring water resistance up to 100 meters.
The meticulously crafted rhodium-coated relief dial of the 1746 Heimat draws inspiration from the traditional diamond pattern of Frankfurt’s renowned cider glasses, known as Gerippte. This classic design, featuring three-dimensional diamond facets, creates a captivating interplay of light and shadow.
Upon closer inspection, the dial of the Heimat 1746 exhibits a similar vibrancy and depth, with a range of surface textures from polished to matte silk. This visual effect is achieved through an advanced electroforming process, which enables the creation of intricate three-dimensional structures with remarkable precision. The rhodium coating, bestows the dial with an elegant silver-white luster, enhancing its sophisticated allure.
The beautifully shaped hour and minute hands coated with rhodium too. The white Roman numerals are applied on the polished chapter ring surrounding the dial.
The 1746 Heimat is equipped with the Selita Automatic SW 300-1 movement. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), With a power reserve of 42 hours. The watch comes with a grey leather strap and is priced at EUR 2,200, which is equivalent to AED 8,900.
