Two Dial Versions Inspired by the British Ship Endurance
Farer is a brand that embraces its British heritage, drawing inspiration from it in every collection. Established in 2015, the brand quickly gained recognition for its ability to blend modern design with classic elegance. Farer has introduced several collections over the years, with the “Three Hand” collection standing out for its classic releases.
This year, Farer unveils its latest timepiece, the “Endurance Limited Edition”. Named after the iconic ship used by Sir Ernest Shackleton during his legendary Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition from 1914 to 1917, the Endurance watch pays tribute to the spirit of adventure and resilience. Built in the Framnes shipyard in Sandefjord, Norway, the Endurance vessel was specifically designed to withstand the harsh conditions of the polar ice. This new release from Farer encapsulates that same sense of endurance and exploration, offering a modern interpretation of a piece of history.
The watch measures a 39.5mm diameter and 45mm lug-to-lug and 10.8mm thickness, crafted from 316L marine-grade stainless steel case, finished with a dark gunmetal grey titanium carbo-nitride (TiCN) PVD coating. This process enhances the steel's durability, providing superior scratch resistance while giving the case a ceramic-like appearance. The case is designed with polished surfaces and brushed lug tops for a refined look, and it is paired with a box-shaped sapphire crystal with an internal anti-reflective coating to minimize glare. The case also includes a PVD-coated stainless steel case back with a sapphire crystal window, secured by four screws. The combination of these elements results in a robust yet elegant design ideal for daily wear, with water resistance up to 50 meters.
The dial of the watch features a striking combination of graphite grey and jade green, creating a bold yet sophisticated look. The dial itself is multi-finished, with a raised, vertically brushed center and a radial-brushed outer ring that adds depth and texture. Hour markers are crafted from Lumicast, a unique blend of Super-LumiNova and ceramic, overprinted in vibrant jade green for enhanced legibility and a signature glow in low light.
The dial is available in two options, Arabic numerals with indices or full Eastern Arabic (Hindi) numerals. A white minute track encircles the outer edge, with jade numerals marking every five minutes. The emerald green syringe hands are filled with white Super-LumiNova for optimal visibility, while the seconds hand features a distinctive jade green color with an orange tip, bearing the brand’s signature "A".
The watch is powered by the Swiss-made La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement, renowned for its precision and craftsmanship. It operates at 28,800 vph (4Hz), ensuring smooth and accurate timekeeping and offers 68 hours of power reserve when fully wound. It also includes a hacking seconds mechanism, allowing for precise time setting.
