A new addition to the vintage-inspired chronograph 1970s collection
Established in 1858 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, Vulcain boasts over a century and a half of watchmaking mastery, solidifying its position as a revered presence in the industry. Notably, the brand gained widespread recognition with the introduction of its Cricket alarm watch in 1947, heralded as the first wristwatch featuring a mechanical alarm function. While renowned for its Cricket timepieces, Vulcain's legacy extends beyond innovation in alarm watches. The brand is also known for its vintage-inspired timepieces and its iconic monopusher chronograph.
Few years ago, Vulcain released the chronograph 1970s collection, inspired by a classic chronograph from the past. A vintage-inspired chronograph at a fair price, with a blue, black, panda-silver and salmon dials. Now, the chronograph 1970s collection receives a striking green dial that commands attention.

Aside from the new color, the watch remains faithful to its collection. It comes in a brushed and polished stainless steel "Step-Case" where the upper and lower parts have a visible step or ledge between them. The case measures 38mm in diameter and 12.40mm in thickness, boasting a classic design with a domed sapphire crystal with anti reflective coating on top surrounded by a smooth bezel, and a pair of pump pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock.

The sunray green dial exudes a classic and reassuring style, featuring a 30-minute counter positioned at 3 o’clock, small seconds at 9 o’clock, and a delicately printed tachymeter scale around the dial. The dial also features silver-colored baton hands and indices, adorned with thin lines and dots of Super-LumiNova.

The watch is still powered by the Sellita SW510, a manual winding movement that we have seen previously powering the collection, it operates at 28,800 vph (4Hz), and offers 63 hours of power reserve. The watch comes with a brown Leather or crocodile-pattern strap, secured with a stainless steel pin buckle, and it is priced at AED 11,500.
