Durable and elegant pieces inspired by early 20th-century military pocket watches
In 2024, Bremont gave its "Terra Nova" collection a fresh update, unveiling stainless steel timepieces inspired by early 20th-century military pocket watches. For this year, the collection expands to include three new models made from a high-strength Cupro-Aluminium bronze alloy. This innovative material combines exceptional resilience with a controlled patina process, resulting in a unique golden tone accented by a warm reddish hue.

Let's start with the simplest model in the collection, the Terra Nova 40.5mm Date Bronze. This watch combines rugged versatility with a 40.5mm two-piece Cupro-Aluminium bronze case that’s 11.11mm thick, has a push-in crown, and a striking dark green gradient dial. The stainless steel case back is coated in a bronze PVD finish, and with 100m of water resistance, it’s ready for everyday wear. To make reading the time effortless, it’s fitted with full-block Super-LumiNova numerals and rose gold-plated hands, which really pop in low light. The date sits at 3 o’clock.
The watch is powered by the Calibre BE-36AE, a modified automatic Sellita SW200-1 movement that runs at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offers 38 hours of power reserve. You can choose from a black and green NATO-style strap, a khaki green nubuck strap, or a full-bronze articulated bracelet. Prices are £3,250 / AED 14,900 for the first two options, or £3,600 / AED 16,500 for the full-bronze bracelet.
The Terra Nova 40.5mm Turning Bezel Power Reserve Bronze is the only limited edition in the trio, as only 100 pieces are made. Its 40.5mm Cupro-Aluminium bronze case is 11.9mm thick and features a bi-directional engraved compass bezel. The warm caramel gradient dial evokes vast desert landscapes, while rose gold-plated hands and vintage Super-LumiNova ensure clarity in any lighting condition. A power reserve indicator sits at 6 o’clock, complemented by a small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock.
Powering the watch is the Calibre BE-79AL, an automatic movement based on a modified Sellita SW279. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and delivers a 38-hour power reserve. Completing the timepiece is a Cupro-Aluminium bronze bracelet, with a price tag of £4,450, approximately AED 20,400.

The final variant is the Terra Nova 42.5mm Chronograph Bronze, featuring a 42.5mm Cupro-Aluminium bronze case with a 14.8mm thickness. It boasts a bi-directional bronze compass bezel with a black ceramic insert. The deep green gradient dial houses a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a date display at 6 o’clock, and a small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock.
Powering the watch is the Calibre BE-50AV, a modified Sellita SW510BH automatic movement that operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offers a 56-hour power reserve. It is available on a bronze three-link bracelet for £5,700 / AED 26,200, or on a green nubuck leather strap or a NATO-style strap woven on traditional French looms for £5,350 / AED 24,500.
