Introducing The New Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Tech BOC IV

A smaller variant of the iconic Fifty Fathoms Tech Gombessa

Blancpain, one of the oldest names in Swiss watchmaking, has built its reputation on a deep-rooted passion for ocean conservation. Since launching the Fifty Fathoms in 1953, claimed by the brand as the first true diver’s watch, it has continuously supported marine exploration and preservation efforts through its Blancpain Ocean Commitment (BOC) initiative. In line with this dedication, the brand unveils its latest release, the Fifty Fathoms Tech BOC IV.

The Fifty Fathoms Tech collection represents Blancpain’s most advanced line of professional dive watches. The latest addition, the Fifty Fathoms Tech BOC IV, builds upon the design language established by the Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 2 Tech Gombessa that was released in 2023, while introducing a new size and touches that set it apart. Limited to just 100 pieces, this special edition directly contributes to marine conservation, with proceeds benefiting the newly established Blancpain x Sulubaaï Marine Research Center.

The watch is crafted from Grade 23 titanium, a material prized for its exceptional strength to weight ratio. The case measures 45mm in diameter and 14.1mm in thickness. A unidirectional rotating bezel with a black ceramic insert, subtly angled towards the dial, ensures effortless operation even while wearing diving gloves. To meet the demands of professional divers, Blancpain has equipped the watch with a helium escape valve at 10 o’clock.

With a water resistance of 300 meters, the Fifty Fathoms Tech BOC IV is more than capable of handling deep-sea adventures. Its screwed caseback features a sapphire crystal, offering a glimpse of the finely finished movement inside, visible through an 18k gold rotor adorned with the blue BOC logo.

Blancpain’s expertise in creating highly legible dive watches is evident in the absolute black dial, which absorbs up to 97% of light to minimize reflections underwater. The dial features a tilted date window at 4:30, with luminescent block-shaped appliques for the indices, ensuring maximum visibility in dark conditions. The hands are also coated with luminescent material, further enhancing readability.

The watch is powered by Blancpain’s Calibre 1315A, an in-house automatic movement operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). It boasts an impressive five-day power reserve, thanks to its three barrels. Additionally, the movement features a silicon balance spring, providing superior resistance to magnetic fields and enhancing overall timekeeping stability.

It comes with an integrated black rubber strap with a pin buckle and is priced at CHF 19,600, equivalent to AED 81,450.
