A limited edition for the Mexican market on the occasion of the SIAR
Perrelet launched its Turbine Collection in 2009, establishing a new benchmark with its groundbreaking design and historic craftsmanship. This collection includes various models centered on the unique turbine concept. Now, during the SIAR Summer Experience, Perrelet is unveiling an exclusive new timepiece, the Turbine "¡Viva México, cabrones!". This limited edition of 50 pieces is filled with patriotic spirit, celebrating the independence of Mexico.
Perrelet has consistently honored the symbols and traditions of Mexico with the Turbine Mexico in 2020, the Turbine Mexican Flag and Turbine Mexican Skull in 2022, and last year's Turbine Carbon Mexico. The brand is now strengthening its close relationship with the Mexican market during the SIAR Summer Experience. The new edition features a dial animated by the iconic Turbine, showcasing two of the nation's most distinctive symbols, the tricolor with the eagle emblem and the inscription "¡Viva México, cabrones!", which translates to “Long live Mexico, bastards!”.
Few people are aware of the origins and true meaning of the expression "¡Viva México, cabrones!". According to studies by the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the phrase originated during the Mexican Revolution in 1923. When Pancho Villa was assassinated, his last words were: "¡Viva México, cabrones!" This was not meant to offend, but to inspire the fight for the homeland.

The national colors, green, white, and red, are featured on the lower dial along with the inscription, dating back to the first Mexican flag, which includes an eagle holding a snake in its talons. Although modified over the decades, the current flag design was approved in September 1968.
