Introducing The New Bvlgari Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon with a luxurious Rose Gold Case

Integrating the tourbillon with a intricate minute repeater complication

Bvlgari, the renowned Italian Maison, has long been known for its innovative spirit and luxurious craftsmanship. The brand is particularly distinguished for its record-breaking achievements in ultra-thin watchmaking. Notably, Bvlgari set a new benchmark with the Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC, claiming the title of the world’s thinnest watch at an astonishing 1.70 mm thick. Yet, Bvlgari's creative journey in horology extends beyond mere thinness, it embodies a commitment to intricate and highly complicated timepieces that exceed expectations.

At this year's Geneva Watch Days, Bvlgari continues its creative journey with the release of the Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon. This latest timepiece integrates a tourbillon with a sophisticated minute repeater featuring three hammers.

The Octo Roma boldly reflects the brand’s Roman heritage, with its distinctive octagonal profile inspired by Ancient Rome. This design element draws inspiration from the octagonal coffering of the 4th-century Basilica of Maxentius in the Roman Forum, showcasing Bvlgari's skill in transforming architectural motifs from antiquity into contemporary, stylish timepieces.

As for the new timepiece, it comes in a 44 mm brushed rose gold case, which is elegantly complemented by a rose gold push button and crown adorned with a black ceramic insert. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal, and the transparent case back provides a captivating view of the intricate movements within. With its 12.60 mm thickness, this timepiece balances bold presence with sophistication, making it a nice addition to any watch collection.

The sandblasted openworked dial showcases an intricate interplay of design and functionality. Its polished rose gold-plated hands and indexes stand out against the textured backdrop, adding a touch of elegance. At 11 o'clock, the hammers and gongs are prominently displayed, while the tourbillon at 6 o'clock takes center stage, both elements beautifully exposed for the wearer to admire. The surrounding mechanics are subtly visible through a grille-shaped brass with a sleek black DLC treatment.

The watch is powered by the modified BVL428 manufacture manual winding movement, featuring openwork bridges that showcase its intricate engineering. This exceptional calibre enables the watch to chime the hours, quarters, and minutes, with the quarters being struck on three notes by the carillon mechanism. It boasts a power reserve of 75 hours, with its indicator visible through the caseback, and operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz). The watch comes with a black alligator leather strap and a brushed rose gold folding buckle, and the price USD 340,000, equivalent to AED 1,250,000.
