Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of Its Singapore Dealer
Franck Muller has always been one of the leading names in the world of luxury watchmaking, boasting an extensive network of authorized dealers worldwide, which enhances its presence and influence in the market. Now, the brand is celebrating the 70th anniversary of "Sensor Fine Watches," one of its key partners in Singapore, which began its partnership in 1992. To mark this successful collaboration, Frank Muller has launched the "Vanguard Damascus Steel Sensor Platinum Jubilee," a testament to the strong relationship between the brand and its Singaporean dealer.
The watch features a 42.5mm diameter and 12.6 thickness case that radiates understated elegance in cool grey and black tones. Its barrel-shaped design highlights intricate swirling patterns crafted from Damascus steel, known for its unique wavy appearance and remarkable strength. This ancient metalworking technique layers iron and steel (316L and 304L), enhancing both durability and corrosion resistance through an artisanal manufacturing process. Unlike regular steel, Damascus steel necessitates careful brushing to preserve its distinctive design.
The watch features a skeleton dial with internal edges that secure the bridges, hands, and crown crafted from 18k rose gold, creating a striking two-tone finish that enhances its overall visual appeal. The seconds sub-dial Below the central hands showcases a unique sapphire glass disc, adding a contemporary touch. The highly skeletonized movement is beautifully revealed through the skeletonized dial, as well as from the case back, and is supported by intricate Damascus steel bridges. The combination of the delicate 18k rose gold hour, minute, and second hands—coated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced visibility in low light—along with the distinctive skeleton design, creates a captivating focal point for this elegant timepiece.
The watch is powered by calibre MVT FM 1740-VS2, a manual-wound movement that intricately displays 175 components. Running at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5Hz), this movement boasts an impressive seven-day double-barrel power reserve.
It comes with a black alligator leather strap and rose gold stitching and a rose gold “FM” emblem on the Damascus steel buckle, and it's a limited edition of 28 pieces.
