Hands on Chronoswiss Unveils the Striking Strike Two Terra

Founded in Munich, Germany, in 1983, Chronoswiss emerged as a beacon of traditional watchmaking during an era dominated by quartz technology. Gerd Rüdiger Lang, the visionary founder, established the brand to preserve the art of mechanical watchmaking. Today, Chronoswiss continues to honor Lang’s legacy from its headquarters in Lucerne, Switzerland, crafting high-end timepieces that stand as symbols of independent innovation.

At Watches and Wonders 2024 in Geneva, Chronoswiss unveiled the Strike Two collection, featuring two remarkable models: the H2O and the Golden Gear. In our exclusive interview with Chronoswiss CEO Oliver Ebstein, we explored this collection's innovative spirit. Marking a departure from the brand’s traditional vertical regulator design, the Strike Two series introduces a horizontal regulator layout—a bold evolution that retains the brand's iconic identity.

Drawing inspiration from the iconic Tora watch of the 1990s, Chronoswiss now presents the latest addition to the Strike Two collection: the Terra Limited Edition. As its name suggests, this model channels the allure of Earth’s terrains, showcased in its stunningly textured dial.

The Terra Limited Edition features a meticulously crafted 40mm stainless steel case, composed of 17 individual pieces, with a slim profile of just 12.7mm. This design achieves a striking presence while maintaining exceptional wrist comfort. 

Signature elements such as the onion crown, elongated hollowed lugs, and a fluted decorative ring along the case's side underline the brand’s attention to detail. The polished bezel and domed sapphire crystal, with double anti-reflective coating, complete the case’s refined appearance. Additionally, the sapphire crystal caseback offers a clear view of the intricate movement within.

Chronoswiss’s latest creation, the Strike Two Terra Limited Edition, stands out with its lasered, brown PVD-coated dial, featuring a rugged texture inspired by the raw beauty of Earth’s landscapes. The hour display, located at 3 o’clock, is designed with an open gear and secured by two vertical bridges, showcasing a subdial with printed Roman numerals. A central minute hand and a small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock, adorned with hand-guilloché finishing, add to the intricate craftsmanship.

 For enhanced visibility in low-light conditions, the indices and hands are coated with Super-LumiNova. The minute track encircling the dial is marked by alternating black dots and white dashes at five-minute intervals, ensuring both precision and clarity. The blued hands and bridge screws provide a striking contrast against the golden base plate and silver subdials, delivering a harmonious yet captivating design.

Under the sapphire crystal caseback lies the Manufacture Caliber C.6000, the movement powering the Strike Two collection, developed in collaboration with La Joux-Perret. This automatic movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offers an impressive power reserve of 55 hours. It features a ruthenium-coated tungsten rotor and is adorned with a radial Côtes de Genève pattern.

The Strike Two Terra comes paired with a black calf leather strap and is available as a limited edition of just 100 pieces. It is priced at CHF 9,800, approximately AED 31,500.
