The watch case shines in red thanks to the brand's revolutionary titanium composite
Chronoswiss, the esteemed watchmaker based in Lucerne, Switzerland, has introduced a remarkable new edition of its iconic Delphis collection: the Delphis Firestarter. This extraordinary timepiece sets a new benchmark for innovation and artistry in materials engineering. Limited to just 50 pieces, the Firestarter is housed in a groundbreaking Titanium Core Nano Shell case, a world-first achievement for the brand.
The vibrant red hue of the case is not a superficial coating but a seamless fusion of a high-performance composite and a Grade 5 titanium core on a molecular level. This advanced bonding process permanently merges the titanium core with an ultra-lightweight yet durable 0.4mm composite shell in fiery red.
The case is then meticulously carved from a solid block of this high-end composite. The result is a visually striking aesthetic and a pioneering leap in modern watch case engineering.
The Delphis Firestarter retains the iconic case design of the Delphis collection, now enhanced with the Titanium Core Nano Shell for the first time. Measuring 42.6mm in diameter and 14.5mm in thickness, the case features a polished, intricately decorated onion crown beneath a polished bezel with finely fluted decorative sides.
A curved, double-coated, anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial, while a sapphire exhibition case back reveals the intricate movement within. The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters.
The dial is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, showcasing a curved, hand-guilloché pattern adorned with five layers of red fire enamel, meticulously handcrafted on an 18ct white gold base at the Chronoswiss Atelier in Lucerne. The upper segment of the dial features a central retrograde minute display and a jumping hour window at 12 o’clock.
The lower segment houses a small seconds display at 6 o’clock, designed with a dramatic umbrella-shaped motif reminiscent of a blazing warning sign, a fitting homage to the watch's fiery theme. Both sections of the dial are united by a hand-guilloché pattern, exemplifying the brand’s dedication to artisanal excellence.
Powering the Delphis Firestarter is the Automatic Manufacture Caliber C.6004, developed in collaboration with La Joux-Perret. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), the movement offers a robust 55-hour power reserve. It features a tungsten openworked rotor, radial Côtes de Genève décoration, and ruthenium-plated components visible through the satin-finished, screw-down case back. The movement also includes a Nivarox balance spring and Incabloc shock protection, ensuring precision and durability.
Completing the timepiece is a bold red rubber strap with a folding clasp, perfectly complementing the watch's fiery aesthetic. Limited to just 50 pieces, the Delphis Firestarter is priced at EURO 41,800, approximately AED 161,200.
