Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
The indie brand adds a new blue dial color to its iconic collection
Established in 1983 by Gerd R. Lang, Chronoswiss caters to discerning aficionados of horology. Among their esteemed collections, such as the Chronoswiss Delphis, they maintain an unparalleled reputation. Featuring a distinctive knurled bezel and onion crown, the round case of the Delphis is crafted from 18k gold or stainless steel and is adorned with sapphire crystal both in front and back, showcasing the automatic manufacture movement within. Introduced in 1996, the Chronoswiss Delphis stands out as the pioneer in integrating three display formats within a single timepiece, presenting digital hours, retrograde minutes, and analog seconds. These functions are elegantly indicated by Viking hands and Arabic numerals. Chronoswiss has recently introduced the Delphis Sapphire, a meticulously crafted limited edition that seamlessly blends elements of traditional watchmaking with a bold contemporary vision. This new iteration maintains the design integrity of its predecessors.
This timepiece features a case crafted from 17-piece solid stainless steel, measuring 42mm in diameter and 14.5mm in thickness. They also include a polished, highly decorated onion crown under a polished screw-down bezel with thin side knurling, along with a curved double-coated anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The case is water-resistant to 100 meters, with a sapphire crystal exhibition window on the caseback.
The watch showcases curved hand-guilloché dials with a tantalizing sapphire-blue CVD coating. Chemical Vapor Deposition is a vacuum deposition method used to produce high-quality, and high-performance, solid materials. The upper segment features a central retrograde minute with a jumping hour window display at 12 o’clock. Below the 60-minute display and surrounding the hour aperture, you will find a spectacular 3D guilloché pattern.
On the lower part of the dial, the small seconds display at 6 o’clock is suspended above the dial, giving the impression that it is floating. It features a hand-guilloché pattern in a CVD-coated blue color that contrasts nicely with the black background. The bridges on which the central retrograde minute hand and the small seconds hand sit add gracefully curving lines to the dial. Minutes and seconds are indicated via Viking-style skeletonized hands plated in rhodium.
This watch is powered by the new Automatic Manufacture Caliber C.6004, operating at 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offering 55 hours of power reserve. It features an openworked rotor. The movement also has radial Côtes de Genève decoration, and components plated with ruthenium are showcased under the satin-finished screw-down case back. This caliber comes equipped with a Nivarox balance spring and Incabloc shock protection.
Limited to just 50 pieces per model, these watches come with a black rubber strap with a folding clasp buckle, priced at CHF 15,800, which is equivalent to AED 65,000.
The timepiece is available in the GCC. it will be delivred in mid March, you can preorder it. Head over to the Chronoswiss storefinder to find your nearest retailer.
