A new robust timepiece in a collaboration with the French creative seconde/seconde/
The market for affordably priced mechanical watches is experiencing rapid growth, with brands striving to deliver timepieces that offer the perfect balance between quality and price. This trend allows both enthusiasts and newcomers to enjoy the beauty of mechanical craftsmanship without breaking the bank, and a British brand that serves as a prime example is Christopher Ward. Known for collections like the C1, C60, and C65, the brand continues to push boundaries with accessible yet well-crafted watches. Now, Christopher Ward is collaborating with artist seconde/seconde/ to release the C65 Desk Diver Limited Edition.
Some modern diving watches aren't intended for underwater use; instead, they serve as versatile daily tool watches, ideal for tackling a busy workday. These timepieces have earned the nickname "desk divers”, and the new C65 Desk Diver, is designed to help you navigate office politics and, when the moment calls for it, command the boardroom. With a sapphire crystal bezel and a dial segmented into 'productive' zones, it offers playful reminders to take a walk, have a nap, outmaneuver your colleagues, and, of course, engage in some 'doomscrolling' on your phone.
The watch is crafted from 316L stainless steel and is based on the C65 Aquitaine, featuring a 41mm case with a height of 12.45mm and a lug-to-lug distance of 46.68mm. Its screw-in steel case back guarantees 200 meters of water resistance, allowing it to function as a diving watch if needed.
Aside from the activities it displays, the black dial features applied indexes and hands treated with luminous material. Just above the date window at 6 o'clock, there is a yellow sticky note picture with "The Desk Diver" written on it in seconde/seconde/'s signature style.
The watch is powered by the Sellita SW200 automatic movement, operating at a frequency of 28,800vph (4Hz) with a 38-hour power reserve. It is limited to 500 pieces and available with either a rubber strap priced at EUR 995 / AED 4,100 or a steel bracelet for EUR 1,160 / AED 4,800. The custom box includes a variety of office essentials, such as branded pencils, paper clips, Post-it notes, highlighters, and board pins, ensuring you're equipped to keep the office running smoothly.
