Elegance in a curved ultra-thin timepiece
Cartier is a renowned luxury brand known for its jewelry, watches, and accessories. Founded in Paris, France, in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier, it has established itself as a symbol of luxury and elegance.
Cartier is a pioneer in watchmaking, creating classic timepieces like the Cartier Tank that is known for its distinct rectangular case. The Tank was first introduced in 1917 and quickly became a symbol of luxury and elegance, inspired by the shape of military tanks during World War I.
Cartier offers a diverse range of Tank models, including the Tank Française, Tank Solo, and Tank Louis Cartier, each distinguished by its unique design and features. In 1921, the Cartier Tank underwent a transformation, giving birth to the Tank Cintrée, which translates to 'curved' in English. This model introduced the elegant curved rectangular shape, laying the foundation for future classics such as the Tank Américaine.
In 2021, Cartier introduced the limited-edition Tank Cintrée Réédition Gold in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the iconic Tank Cintrée design, retaining the classic rectangular case that has defined the Tank series for over a century. However, what sets it apart is its use of yellow gold, exuding a warm and radiant glow.
Now, The Tank Cintrée Réédition gets a new 950 platinum polished case, with almost identical dimensions of the yellow gold version, with 46.30mm in length and 23mm in width and slightly thicker case at 6.03mm. A platinum Cartier watch typically features a beaded crown adorned with a ruby cabochon, a feature that can be found in this timepiece.

The dial remains faithful to the aesthetics of the 1920s, and comes in an off-white color, with apple shaped blued steel hour and minute hands, black printed roman numerals and a minute track at the center of the dial.
The watch is powered by the 9780 MC caliber, based on the Jaeger-LeCoultre 849 that was used in the “Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Jubilee”. This movement operates at 21,600 vph and is characterized by an ultra thin hand wound, providing 33 hours of power reserve. The timepiece is worn on a black alligator strap with platinum ardillon buckle.
The new Tank Cintrée Réédition is limited to 150 pieces and will be available at the end of September 2023, with a price of EUR 34,700 which is equivalent to AED 136,000.
