The LUM Collection Continues to Shine with a Fully Luminescent Case
At Dubai Watch Week 2023, Bell & Ross introduced the BR-X5 Green Lum, a stunning timepiece with a luminous green case. Building on this luminous innovation, the brand has now unveiled the BR-X5 Blue Lum, a limited-edition watch featuring a captivating blue luminescent design.
Bell & Ross has pioneered an advanced luminous material for the BR-X5 Lum collection. This composite combines epoxy quartz fiber, luminescent material, and resin, ensuring consistent luminosity while maintaining exceptional lightness.
The case of this limited edition retains the same dimensions as the previous BR-X5 Iridescent, measuring 41 mm in diameter and 12.80 mm in thickness. However, the BR-X5 Blue Lum introduces Grade 2 titanium in place of stainless steel, enhancing its durability and reducing weight.
The container features micro blasted titanium with a DLC finish, while the upper and lower inserts are crafted from blue luminescent quartz fiber composite. The fixed bezel, also in Grade 2 micro blasted titanium, incorporates a luminescent composite insert. Additional details include a screw-down crown and crown guard in Grade 2 titanium, and a smoked grey sapphire crystal case-back with an anti-reflective coating, complete with an oscillating weight.
The dial showcases a striking matte black design with applied indices filled with blue Super-LumiNova and black lacquer. The skeletonized hour and minute hands are similarly treated, offering a vivid blue glow. A black flange with a 60-minute scale and blue transfer encircles the dial, which also features a date window at 3 o’clock and a power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock.
Powering the watch is the Caliber BR-CAL.323, an automatic mechanical certified by COSC, movement developed in partnership with Kenissi. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), it delivers an impressive 70-hour power reserve, ensuring reliable performance.
Completing the design is a black rubber strap with a DLC-treated stainless steel buckle. Limited to just 500 pieces, the BR-X5 Blue Lum is priced at USD 13,300 or approximately AED 48,850.
