A watch where elegance meets the ocean passion of scientists on the schooner tara
Bell & Ross crafted instrument watches for experts in various fields, ranging from aviation to motorsport. In 1997, they released the Hydromax, which features a case entirely filled with Hydroil, a specialized transparent silicone oil designed to withstand immense pressures. This watch is certified to a depth of 11,100 meters. In 2017, they introduced the BR 03-92 DIVER, capturing the iconic design and reliability sought after by diving professionals.
This year, the brand unveils the BR 03-92 DIVER TARA watch, a collaboration with the Tara Océan Foundation, France's leading public interest foundation focused on oceanic pursuits. The foundation has two primary missions: deepening our understanding through oceanic explorations and amplifying this scientific knowledge to elevate public awareness. Designed to meet the exacting standards of the Tara oceanography exploration crew, this diver's watch guarantees reliability, even in the most demanding conditions.
The watch boasts the iconic 42mm square case, crafted in matte blue ceramic. The blue ceramic unidirectional bezel features a 60-minute scale, with orange scale between 12 and 3 o’clock for the first 15 minutes. The case is further enhanced with a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, a screw-down crown with guards, and a solid caseback with an image of the schooner Tara. Its 300m water resistance makes it an ideal companion for underwater adventures.
The blue metal dial evokes the ocean's enigmatic depths. Enhanced with metal applique skeleton hands with SL. The white numerals and circular indices are coated with Super-LumiNova as well, ensuring clarity even in low-light settings. The orange seconds hand, illuminated on its circular tip, with a white minute track surrounding the dial, and a circular date window positioned at 4:30.

At the heart of the watch is the caliber BR-CAL.302 (based on Sellita). This automatic movement, beats at 28,800 vph (4Hz), and provides a power reserve of 40 hours. The watch is paired with a woven blue rubber with a steel pin buckle with a blue PVD coating, and an additional ultra-resilient orange synthetic fabric complementing the overall aesthetic.
The watch is limited to 999 pieces, and priced at CHF 5,400 which is equivalent to AED 22,000, and for every watch sold, part of the profits will be donated to the Foundation.
