A collaboration that marks the indie brand’s first Men’s watch
Beauregard distinguishes itself as the first independent watch brand specializing in crafting timepieces exclusively designed for women. Its inception traces back to Alexandre Beauregard, who, at the age of 17, began crafting unconventional timepieces alongside a friend in his father's garage. Two decades later, he established BEAUREGARD SA in Geneva. By reimagining the conventional concept of a jewelry watch, Beauregard seamlessly merges watchmaking and jewelry, presenting a fresh perspective.
In a collaboration that marks a first for the brand, Beauregard partners again with master watchmaker Vianney Halter to unveil the brand's first men's timepiece, the Ulysse. The timepiece epitomizes a mutual appreciation for watchmaking as a distinct art form. Encased in 18k rose gold measuring 41mm, it features a domed sapphire, an intricately engraved screw-down back embellished with gold engraving accented in blue lacquer, and a crown adorned with an aquamarine.
The dial features characteristic of Beauregard's design philosophy. Inspired by the concept of a stained glass window adorned with precious stones, the dial presents a captivating fusion of craftsmanship and creativity. Featuring 68 miniature aquamarine components intricately hand-cut and set within a delicate gold lacework. Crafted in Beauregard's Montreal workshop, every stone is shaped and fitted by hand, casting a unique interplay of light as it reflects off a mother-of-pearl disk positioned beneath. The hands, elegantly off-set and curved to complement the dial's arch, gracefully traverse around the dial.
Vianney granted Alexandre full creative freedom to embellish and adorn his renowned “mysterious” automatic movement. The caliber's innovative design features a patented 'invisible' rotor, offering a clear view of its intricate inner mechanisms. The movement operates at 21,600 vph (3Hz) and offers 56 hours of power reserve, and its architecture allows for the integration of additional modules. In the case of the Beauregard Ulysse watch, this led to a reimagining of the time display, with the hour and minute hands rotating from unconventional positions.
The watch is paired with a chestnut alligator leather strap featuring a rose gold pin buckle and a quick-release interchangeable system. The timepiece is limited to 10 pieces and offered at a price of CHF 110,000, equivalent to AED 443,000.
