Limited Edition to Celebrate British Watchmakers Day
Beaucroft is a British brand founded in Cambridge by two friends, Karim Faisali and Matt Herd, who share a passion for outstanding design and mechanical watchmaking. Dedicated to craftsmanship and sustainability, Beaucroft is an independent watch brand that values building lasting relationships with customers worldwide. Their designs honor tradition while embracing innovation, and their connection to the University of Cambridge highlights their commitment to excellence and meaningful partnerships. Additionally, Beaucroft is known to be part of the "1% for the Planet" initiative, further emphasizing their dedication to environmental responsibility.
The brand’s classic style is evident in most of its releases, which have garnered strong praise from watch enthusiasts. This year, Beaucroft introduced a special edition, the “PENFOLD” limited edition watch, created to celebrate the blend of modern British art and British watch design. The dial was designed in collaboration with artist “Tim Gresham” (Penfold). A portion of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to the Alliance of British Watch & Clockmakers, helping support the future of British watchmaking and design.
The watch comes in a robust case made from stainless steel with a hardness coating of 1200-1300 HV, the case ensures exceptional resistance to scratches and wear. With a diameter of 39.5mm and a thickness of 11.6mm, and 46.5mm lug-to-lug. Equipped with a double-domed sapphire crystal, the watch offers excellent clarity and scratch resistance. The screw-down crown and 200-meter water resistance make it a versatile choice for everyday wear, offering both style and practicality in any environment.
The dial of the watch is a true work of art, created in collaboration with Bristol-based artist Tim Gresham (known as Penfold). Drawing inspiration from creative movements such as Pop Art and British Modernism, the design is minimalist yet dynamic. At its core, the dial features a matte white base, symbolizing a blank canvas, with a meticulously crafted metal bar above it. This bar showcases a two-tone linear airbrushed gradient that shifts in the light, revealing depth and texture. The deep debossed Beaucroft emblem adds a subtle yet sophisticated touch. The absence of unnecessary complications on the dial maintains its clean, uncluttered look, allowing the time to be read through a white minute track printed on a surrounding ring With hands coated with Super-luminova. An off-center black dot adds a playful accent, creating a captivating contrast with the straight lines of the bar and the roundness of the watch itself. This elegant and dynamic design is not just functional but a nod to the world of contemporary art.
The watch is powered by Miyota 9039 automatic mechanical movement. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz), it ensures smooth timekeeping while offering a 42-hour power reserve. The movement is regulated for accuracy within +/- 10 seconds per day, making it a dependable choice for everyday wear. Additionally, the hacking seconds mechanism allows for precise time setting, enhancing its functionality.
The watch is paired with a stainless steel bracelet and is a limited edition of just 75 pieces. These will be made available first exclusively to attendees of the British Watchmakers’ Day on March 8th. Any remaining pieces will be offered online starting at 9am on March 9th, priced at GBP 649, approximately AED 2,950.
