Introducing Albishorn Unveils The New Thundergraph
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
A limited edition inspired by the 1952 Swiss expeditions to Everest
Albishorn may be a newcomer to Swiss watchmaking, but it enters the scene with serious pedigree, making its debut at Geneva Watch Days 2024. The brand was established by Sébastien Chaulmontet, a lawyer-turned-watchmaker renowned for his expertise in chronographs. Following the launch of its second timepiece, the Type 10 Chronograph, Albishorn now introduces its third release: the Thundergraph. Inspired by the pioneering spirit of the 1952 Swiss expeditions to Everest, this mountaineering chronograph blends vintage aesthetics with modern engineering, delivering a rugged yet refined tool built for extreme conditions.
The Thundergraph is Albishorn’s tribute to the Swiss climbers who laid the groundwork for the first successful ascent of Mount Everest in 1953. The watch is envisioned as the ultimate tool that could have accompanied these expeditions, designed for legibility and durability.
Housed in a 39mm x 12mm stainless steel case with polished and brushed surfaces, the Thundergraph features an oversized bidirectional bezel with black and red lacquer accents. A large bronze crown at 10:30 and a red monopusher at 9:30 ensure effortless operation, even with gloved hands, an essential feature for high-altitude climbers. The case also offers 100 meters of water resistance.

The sunburst petroleum blue dial showcases the brand’s unique "California ghost" layout, blending gilt Roman numerals with Super-LumiNova for optimal legibility. This combination of vintage-style elements with modern lume application ensures readability in low-light or stormy conditions. The dial also features a small seconds subdial at the lower right and a 30-minute chronograph counter at the lower left.
Powering the Thundergraph is the manually wound ALB03 M chronograph movement. This COSC-certified caliber operates at 28,800 vph (4Hz) and delivers an impressive 65-hour power reserve. It comes with a Beige or Petroleum leather strap, and is limited to just 99 pieces, with production spread over three years. It is priced at CHF 3,650, approximately AED 15,200.
