Bvlgari & MB&F Reimagine the Iconic Serpenti

Collaborations in watchmaking often bring together the creativity of a brand and its chosen partner, whether they be artists, athletes, or designers. However, it’s far rarer to see two well-known watchmaking powerhouses join forces. The partnership between Bvlgari and MB&F is a fascinating case, as both brands serve as creative forces in the industry with anything they put their hands on.

Their latest collaboration, the Bvlgari x MB&F Serpenti, follows their 2021 partnership, which resulted in the MB&F x Bvlgari LM FlyingT Allegra launched at Dubai Watch Week. This time, the two brands reinterpret Bvlgari’s iconic Serpenti through the mechanical artistry of MB&F’s horological machines, merging biomorphic design with high-complication watchmaking in a way that only they can.

Introducing Aera Announces the M-1 Blackbird and M-1 Field watches in various colors

Two new editions inspired by the Dirty Dozen military watches

Aera, was founded in early 2018 by a passionate group of watch enthusiasts, inspired by a rich, classic heritage. The name Aera, derived from the Latin word “era,” meaning “age” or “period of time”, reflects the brand’s vision of high design and timeless precision. The brand offers a range of distinct styles, including chronographs, sports watches, dive watches, and military watches. Today, Era introduces its latest models: the M-1 Blackbird and M-1 Field, inspired by the "Dirty Dozen" military watches supplied to British troops at the end of World War II.

The differences between the two are minimal but noticeable. The case and caseback of the "M-1 Blackbird" watch are made from PVD-coated 904L stainless steel, while the "M-1 Field" watch uses standard 904L stainless steel. Additionally, both versions feature a satin circular brushed finish bezel, providing a slightly different aesthetic. Both timepieces have a 39mm diameter, and 13.14mm case thickness. The lug-to-lug measurements are nearly identical, with the Black version measuring 47.57mm and the second at 47.6mm. Water resistance is the same for both, rated at 100 meters, and both are equipped with a curved, domed sapphire crystal with two coats of anti-reflective coating to ensure clarity and scratch resistance.

Both dials feature in matte black, offering a simple, clean aesthetic with the Aera logo. Each dial also includes a white train track with 12 o’clock indices. Super-LumiNova Grade X1 is hand-applied to the hands, indices, and the minute track around the subdial at 6 o’clock, ensuring easy readability in low-light conditions. The numerals and logo are made from solid white Globolight, with the numerals emitting a blue glow on the M-1 Blackbird and a green glow on the M-1 Field, while the logo remains white on both versions. The main difference between the two models lies in the color of the 12 o’clock indices and the small seconds indicator, blue for the M-1 Blackbird and grey for the M-1 Field.

Both watches are powered by the Sellita SW216-1 manual-winding movement. This movement features 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offers a 42 hour power reserve. With a hacking seconds function, the SW216-1.

The black version is paired with an integrated smooth black Italian leather strap featuring black stitching, as well as a grey Italian suede strap with white stitching, and a PVD 904L stainless steel buckle, priced at GBP 1,600 approximately equivalent to AED 7,450.

The silver version comes with an integrated smooth black Italian leather strap with white stitching, a pebble-grain tan Italian leather strap with white stitching, and a 904L stainless steel buckle, priced at GBP 1,450 approximately equivalent to AED 6,750. Both watches are limited editions of 300 pieces.
