A Bold Vision Led by Julian Henne as He Revives the Brand
The Swiss brand that draws its name and traditions from Italian culture, Breva, takes inspiration from La Breva, a warm southern wind that creates a mild climate around Lake Como in northern Italy. Founded in 2013, the brand made a strong debut in haute horlogerie with its first timepiece, Genie 01, the world’s first mechanical wristwatch equipped with a functional barometer to predict weather changes. This pioneering spirit continued with three exceptional models within the Genie collection.

After several years of dormancy, Breva is now experiencing a revival. The brand has been officially relaunched under the leadership of Julian Henne, a seasoned industry expert with over 20 years of experience in watchmaking. His extensive expertise spans creativity, development, as well as strategic and commercial challenges. Henne previously served as CEO of both Anonimo and Vulcain and held executive positions at MGI Luxury Group, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and TechnoMarine, in addition to leading marketing and communications at HYT.
“Our goal is to create watches that are worn and appreciated daily, not locked away in safes,” says Henne. For its first creations in this new chapter, Breva Genève collaborates with some of the finest artisans and specialists in haute horlogerie.
The new timepiece immediately stands out with its distinctive dial layout, designed for optimal readability. Its defining feature is a dual power reserve indicator, lending the Segreto di Lario dial a unique identity.
The brand’s inaugural watch in this new era comes in an 18-carat 5N+ rose gold cushion-shaped case, measuring 41 mm. It strikes a balance between boldness and elegance, with sapphire crystals on both sides offering a clear view of the movement.
The dial is composed of two layers: a satin-finished central blue dial and a lower rhodium-plated section adorned with vertical Côtes de Genève decoration. Each section is securely fixed to the base with two screws. Framing the display is a crisp white track with a black railway-style minute scale, enhancing the watch’s classical aesthetic.
Positioned at six o’clock, the dual power reserve indicator is a key feature of the timepiece. The first hand tracks the power reserve over the initial six days, while the second takes over for the final 24 hours, providing a more detailed and precise reading of the remaining energy.
The manually wound movement, visible through the transparent caseback, has been exclusively developed by Jean-François Mojon of Chronode. This special edition of the C101 caliber features a retrograde seconds display and a unique non-linear dual power reserve indicator. Thanks to its twin-barrel construction, the hand-wound movement delivers a seven-day power reserve and operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz).
Exemplifying the highest standards of haute horlogerie, the movement boasts hand-chamfered bridges, sandblasted finishing, and meticulously polished edges, reflecting Breva’s dedication to fine craftsmanship.
The Segreto di Lario is presented on a hand-stitched blue alligator leather strap, available in three sizes, and secured with an 18-carat 5N+ rose gold pin buckle. This exclusive timepiece is limited to just 25 pieces, priced at 58,000 CHF, which is approximately 242,000 AED.
