Once again inspired by the seas but this time from the largest sea on the moon
In September of last year, Blancpain and Swatch marked the beginning of their collaboration by introducing five Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms models. Building on this partnership, the two brands are starting the new year with the launch of OCEAN OF STORMS, a sleeker version that addresses the color gap in the collection.
Following the collection's naming tradition, the latest reference adheres to an ocean-inspired theme. Since the initial release encompassed all five Earthly oceans, the new iteration shifts the theme beyond our planet, drawing inspiration from the moon's lunar mare, specifically named Oceanus Procellarum.
This Blancpain X Swatch watch honors Blancpain’s Fifty Fathoms,. Its black case and crown are made of Bioceramic material. The word “Swatch” is inscribed on the outer left side of the case.

The dial has a black sunbrushed finish and features a date indicator between 4 and 5 o'clock. The hour indexes, hour, and minute hands, as well as the scale on the bezel, are enriched with Grade A Super-LumiNova® for outstanding legibility in the dark. The one-direction rotating black Bioceramic bezel, and biosourced glass are treated with an anti-scratch coating.
The SISTEM51 mechanical movement is visible thanks to a transparent sapphire glass and features an illustration of the Oceanus Procellarum (Ocean of Storms) region of the moon and the Okenia Luna nudibranch in digital print. This mechanism features just 51 parts including only one central screw, caliber boasts a 90-hour autonomy, and an anti-magnetic composition, courtesy of its Nivachron™ hairspring.
The watch is accompanied by a black NATO strap with white and gray stripes that echo its overall color palette. The pin buckle and loops are made of Bioceramic material.
In alignment with its forerunners, the upcoming timepiece, priced at $400 USD, is scheduled for release in specific stores on January 11, and it will not be limited in availability.
