Louis Erard Collaborates with GoS on the Latest Edition of Le Régulateur

In December 2021, Louis Erard and GoS Watches were brought together by Manuel Emch, the visionary behind Louis Erard's strategic revival and creative transformation. He found a kindred spirit in Patrik Sjögren, watchmaker and founder of the Swedish atelier GoS, renowned for its mastery of Damascus steel.

Together, they envisioned a timepiece that would seamlessly blend the essence of both Maisons: the technical precision and aesthetic refinement of the Swiss Jura, married to the artistry of a Swedish forge, where Damascus steel is meticulously crafted into mesmerizing patterns through an almost alchemical process.

Introducing Grand Seiko Unveils the Tokyo Lion Tentagraph SLGC009

Adding the brand’s Brilliant Hard Titanium alloy to the sport collection

The Tokyo Lion series was introduced in 2019, and from its name, you can tell what the collection is inspired by, a powerful symbol that Grand Seiko has embraced for generations, the lion. The collection stands as one of Grand Seiko’s boldest releases, defined by its unique dial and case finishing, like the GMT SBGE307 "Tokyo Lion" we saw last year. Now, as part of its participation in W&W 2025, the brand welcomes an exciting addition to the Tokyo Lion lineup: the Tentagraph SLGC009.

The SLGC009 marks the first use of Brilliant Hard Titanium in the Grand Seiko Sport Collection. This advanced material enhances the visual impact of the brand’s signature Zaratsu-polished surfaces, making them shine with heightened intensity. Not only is the alloy lighter than stainless steel, but it also boasts twice the surface hardness, offering improved resistance to scratches and corrosion. The case measures 43mm in diameter and 15.6mm in thickness. The design evolution from previous Tokyo Lion models is evident, with claw-like lugs extending to the bezel.

The dial is topped with a box-shaped sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, ensuring excellent legibility. A curved sapphire crystal on the screwed caseback provides a glimpse of the movement while ensuring 200 meters of water resistance.

The textured brown dial is inspired by a lion’s mane “waving in the wind.” It features three-dimensional black chronograph counters at 6 and 9 o’clock for the 12-hour and 30-minute counters, along with a small seconds subdial at 3 o’clock. A tilted date window is positioned at 4:30. The hands and claw shaped indices are coated with Lumibrite, Seiko’s luminescent coating.

The watch is powered by the Tentagraph Caliber 9SC5, Grand Seiko’s first-ever mechanical chronograph movement, introduced two years ago. Derived from the Caliber 9SA5, this automatic movement operates at a high frequency of 36,000 vph (5 Hz). Its twin-barrel system ensures an impressive 72-hour power reserve, even with the chronograph running. The movement incorporates a column-wheel and vertical clutch architecture for smooth and precise chronograph operation.

The SLGC009 comes with a newly developed brown rubber strap, designed for both durability and comfort. The material is 2.7 times stronger than previous Grand Seiko silicone straps. A subtle paw-print motif on the inner surface adds a playful nod to the lion inspiration. The strap is secured with a High-Intensity Titanium folding clasp, which curves inward for a seamless fit.

The SLGC009 joins the permanent collection and will be available at Grand Seiko boutiques starting August 2025. The watch is priced at $16,400, approximately AED 60,300.
