Four releases that honors an iconic from the 1928
The French Maison Cartier is one of the most influential watchmakers in the industry. Its Privé collection pays tribute to some of its most iconic watches by reintroducing some of them to the modern day, and this year, Cartier revisits the Tank à Guichets, a timepiece first introduced in 1928. The latest release features four striking new editions that uphold the watch's Art Deco heritage while integrating modern craftsmanship.
The new Cartier Privé Tank à Guichets models come in platinum, yellow and rose gold, all measuring 24.8mm x 37.6mm in dimension and 6.6mm in thickness. The rectangular case maintains the minimalist, monolithic aesthetic of the original, with a polished surface that accentuates the absence of a traditional dial. Instead, two apertures display the time. The crown is adorned with a cabochon on all the variants.

True to its historical predecessors, the Tank à Guichets forgoes a conventional dial. A jumping-hour window sits at 12 o’clock, while a trailing minutes display is positioned at 6 o’clock. However, the limited edition of 200 pieces in platinum features an angled hour display at 10 o’clock and a minutes display at 4 o’clock.

Powering these new editions is Cartier’s manual-winding caliber 9628 MC, a modern movement designed specifically for this reissue. It operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz) and offers a 48-hour power reserve. All versions are paired with elegant alligator leather straps in black, green, and burgundy. The prices are available upon request.
