German silver ( Nickel silver )

Nickel silver, also known as German silver, is a type of alloy commonly used in various components of watchmaking. Despite its name, nickel silver does not actually contain silver. It is composed of a mixture of copper, nickel, and zinc. The term "silver" refers to its silver-like appearance rather than its composition.

Nickel silver is used in different parts of a watch, including the case, movement plates, bridges, and other components. It possesses various properties such as corrosion resistance, durability, and ease of polishing.
