Louis Erard Collaborates with GoS on the Latest Edition of Le Régulateur

In December 2021, Louis Erard and GoS Watches were brought together by Manuel Emch, the visionary behind Louis Erard's strategic revival and creative transformation. He found a kindred spirit in Patrik Sjögren, watchmaker and founder of the Swedish atelier GoS, renowned for its mastery of Damascus steel.

Together, they envisioned a timepiece that would seamlessly blend the essence of both Maisons: the technical precision and aesthetic refinement of the Swiss Jura, married to the artistry of a Swedish forge, where Damascus steel is meticulously crafted into mesmerizing patterns through an almost alchemical process.

Introducing Hublot Expands the Big Bang Unico Collection with the Water Blue Sapphire

The brand’s latest sapphire innovation, described as the purest blue.

Hublot once again demonstrates its unrivaled mastery of sapphire crystal and its ability to explore a spectrum of colors with the latest addition to the Big Bang Unico collection: the Water Blue Sapphire. Limited to just 50 pieces, this timepiece features a striking blue sapphire case that Hublot describes as the purest blue.

Less than a decade ago, Hublot first experimented with crafting a watch case from transparent sapphire. Never content with maintaining the status quo, the brand went on to develop an extensive palette of colored sapphires. Creating new shades of transparent sapphire is a complex and laborious process, requiring far more than simply altering pigments. Each color demands a precise formula and meticulous adjustments to the production process to ensure both aesthetic appeal and functional integrity. The challenge is further amplified by the complexity of the Big Bang’s unique layered construction.

Unveiled at Watches and Wonders 2025, the Water Blue Sapphire represents the latest breakthrough from Hublot’s R&D department, reinforcing the brand’s mission to push creative boundaries and turn the impossible into reality.

The new Big Bang Unico Water Blue Sapphire features a 44mm case, with the case, bezel, and case back all crafted from blue sapphire. Hublot’s signature H-shaped screws and patented One Click system for interchangeable straps are positioned at 12 and 6 o’clock. The crown and pushers are made from titanium, adding a contrasting metallic accent.

The skeletonized dial is crafted from transparent resin, displaying central hour, minute, and seconds hands. Blue luminescent material enhances the hands and transparent hour markers for optimal legibility. A standout feature is the column wheel at 6 o’clock, while the fully visible date disc encircles the movement, with the date aperture positioned at the center of the 60-minute counter at 3 o’clock. The transparent chronograph subdials feature indices highlighted with blue Super-LumiNova.

Powering the watch is the HUB1280 caliber, the second generation of the Unico chronograph flyback movement. Visible through the captivating transparent case back, this flyback chronograph exemplifies Hublot’s fusion of technical innovation and aesthetic refinement. The movement's skeletonized tungsten oscillating weight, along with its sleek grey-toned components, enhances the overall visual appeal. Comprising 354 components and 43 jewels, the HUB1280 operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offers an impressive power reserve of approximately 72 hours.

The watch is paired with transparent blue rubber straps and a titanium deployant buckle. The Big Bang Unico Water Blue Sapphire is limited to just 50 pieces and is priced at CHF 125,000, approximately equivalent to 521,300 AED.
